THE BEINECKE SCHOLARSHIP

The Beinecke Scholarship seeks to encourage and enable highly motivated students to be courageous in selecting graduate study in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. Applicants must be third-year undergraduates with a history of being eligible for need-based aid (this latter factor is reviewed as if merit aid was not being received).

UF may endorse only one applicant for the national competition annually.

THE TRUMAN SCHOLARSHIP

This award is for third-year undergraduates who plan to pursue careers in public service and further their education beyond a Bachelor’s degree. Scholars are awarded generous funding for several years of graduate and/or professional school and access to a network of leading public servants.

Applicants should be active in community service, campus involvement, leadership, and/or various levels of government.

THE KNIGHT-HENNESSY SCHOLARSHIP

The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program cultivates a diverse, multidisciplinary community of emerging leaders worldwide. It guides them to collaborate, innovate, and communicate as they prepare to address society's complex challenges.

Knight-Hennessy Scholars receive funding for graduate and professional (e.g., MD, JD) study at Stanford University and the opportunity to travel within the U.S. and globally as part of service learning trips.

GRADUATE RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS (NSF-GRFP)

The National Science Foundation (NSF) generously funds hundreds of graduate students across the United States each year through its Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP).

Rising seniors or those at the beginning of their graduate studies in the mathematical, physical, biological, and engineering sciences, the behavioral and social sciences, and the history or philosophy of science should consider applying for this award in addition to any funding offered internally by graduate programs.

THE SOROS FELLOWSHIP

Paul and Daisy Soros established the Soros Fellowship Program in recognition of New Americans' contributions to American life and in gratitude for the opportunities the United States has afforded the donors and their families.

The Fellowships are grants for up to two years of graduate and professional (e.g., MD, JD) study in the United States.

Successful applicants demonstrate the following three attributes or criteria for selection: 

  • Creativity, originality, and initiative
  • A commitment to and capacity for accomplishment
  • A commitment to the values expressed in the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights
