Theresa Blackman
Pre-Health Coordinator
Theresa Blackman, M.S. (Lee University 2013) and B.A. History (2011, magna cum laude), has joined the Office of Undergraduate Experience and Student Support (UESS) as the Pre‑Health Coordinator at the University of Florida. Her decade‑long advisory career at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, was marked by a data‑driven approach to student success, the launch of an in‑house MCAT‑prep course, and the creation of a dynamic Pre‑Health portal that increased acceptance rates by more than 25 %.
At UF, she will leverage that experience to build on the university’s growing health‑care pipeline, expanding virtual outreach events, refining individualized academic counseling, and integrating technology‑enabled tracking tools to identify and support students at critical “touchpoints” in their pre‑professional journey. Her belief is that every UF student should be able to approach a health‑care career with confidence, clarity, and the skills needed to thrive both in school and beyond with the skills and resources they have here at the University of Florida.
